Philo- Sophos

"And when he finished the organization of the constitution in the way we described it, he found himself assaulted by people who came to him to ask about his laws, criticizing and debating until, because he didn't want to change what he had decided and to be the object of the ill will of any Athenian either, he set for a long journey to Egypt to visit and make commerce and he let them know he wouldn't be back for the next ten years. He considered there was no need for him to personally enforce his laws and he thought everybody had to observe them as they had been written.

"What's that, don Pedrito?"

"It's the story of the Athenian constitution . Someway, everything starts from here, even a part of myself. You find everything written on these signs, absolutely everything. From the Greeks , Presocratic fragments , the great ones, Plato, Aristotel to the Fathers of Church and even the Apocryphs, to the Romans, until the Maedieval Age, all texts got somehow to be on the Web. Anyway, almost all the great philosophical texts connected somehow to religion (the majority are connected) are present in the Enciclopedia Catolica. As if people would fear their absence somehow. If you search a little bit, this world's philosophy is much more present here than its art.

"What about the Modern Age, don Pedrito? Wasn't there anything after the Maedieval Age?"

"You ask as if you didn't know. Rousseau's Confessions are there and also are Descartes, Leibnitz, Hume, Mill and all the others. You don't even have to search these ones because everything that is not in the texts collection of the Tennessee at Martin University is at Yale University within the frame of the Avalon project and sooner or later you'll find at MIT what you don't find here. It's more difficult to find texts with the copyright in force. The nice deconstructivists are hard to convince that sometimes money comes from the pure and simple offer of the idea.

But there are interactive manuals of the history of philosophy on line and there are ample presentations, there are philosophy magazines with full text on the web (Connexions, Dialegesthai; Rivista telematica di filosofia, Psycoloquy, SORITES; An Electronic Quarterly of Analytical Philosophy, etc. ) and discussion places (cti-textual-studies mailing list archive, PHILOS-L: Philosophers in UK/Europe)and most of all, there are the texts as such.

"Do you want to learn more?"

"No, don Pedrito, not yet, let me read."
